Highlights from the Forum for Graduate School Educational Reform 2023: Humanics students and graduates

On December 1 and 2, 2023, “Forum for Graduate School Educational Reform 2023” was held at the Tsukuba International Congress Center. A total of about 20 students, graduates and faculty members of the Ph.D. Program in Humanics attended this two-day event.

At the Session of Case Studies by Graduates, Shinichi Miyazaki, a Humanics graduate who is currently an assistant professor at the Graduate School of Science, the University of Tokyo, presented his experience with the normalization of internationality and interdisciplinarity during his graduate school years, among the alumni from other graduate programs. The Session was moderated by Minori Masaki, a current 3rd year Humanics student, jointly with Akihiro Kuno, Assistant Professor, Institute of Medicine, University of Tsukuba.

Eleven other Humanics students actively participated in the parallel sessions that followed the plenary. At the Workshop where ten groups discussed ten different themes, the group to which 5th year Humanics student, Dang Cao Thuy Linh belonged won the Excellent Presentation Award on the theme of acquisition of skills and mindset for globally influential entrepreneurship.

At the Poster Session, 3rd year student, Maria Thea Rane Dela Cruz Clarin won the Best Presentation Award, and 4th year students, Margaux Noémie Lafitte, Duo Zhoumao, Muhammad Wildan Gifari respectively won the Excellent Presentation Award.
