It’s time to work in interdisciplinary field to achieve future dreams with Humanics
I majored in B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering at University of Asia Pacific, Dhaka Bangladesh, and Master of Science and Engineering from Taylor’s University in Malaysia. During my undergraduate and master’s, I had several research experiences attending international conferences, symposiums, and workshops which provide uplifted my motivation and help me to understand the significance of the interdisciplinary research field. My Master’s research mainly focused on aneurysm rupture risk prediction using computational fluid dynamics analysis that give me outstanding knowledge to understand fluid biomechanics and basic vascular biology. During that time, I found some research gaps related to advance vascular biology and bioinformatics and arise question “which types of genes and molecules are related to aneurysm rupture”. That time I contact to Prof. Hiromi and know about Humanics Ph.D. program which can fulfill my aim. So, I join in Humanics program at University of Tsukuba under the supervision of Prof. Hiromi (focusing on interaction between cells and extracellular environments) and Dr. Ozaki (major in computational biology and bioinformatics) to work in two interdisciplinary research fields. My research theme is to investigate the molecular pathogenesis of aortic dissection by transcriptomics analysis.
This program provides a wonderful learning environment. For the first and second years, we can take several courses that help us to learn about different areas. After finishing the courses, it might be very helpful to apply knowledge in our research and learn more about interdisciplinary research work in collaboration with other laboratories. Humanics also provides marvelous financial support so the students can fully concentrate on their research, go to international conferences, and buy research accessories. I am happy to say that, it’s a great experience to work as a Ph.D. student in Humanics program with individual support.
In the future, I would like to become an expert in both fields under this double mentorship program to find happiness by contributing to the science community.

Perform immunostaning to check the smooth muscle cells population in 3- and 5-weeks Wild type (WT) and aortic dissection mice (FBN1 mutation) model.
Present my weekly research progress in Ozaki sensei lab based on my current 3-weeks scRNA-seq data of Endothelial cells subpopulation analysis.
Analysis of synchrotron image data to identify the aortic dissection location by development 3D structure using Materialise Mimics in collaboration with Ghent University, Belgium.
